Homemade Ranch (Sorta)

I love wings. And I love ranch with my wings. And ranch is a fun little something to make from scratch. I make mine with yogurt, which is no longer ranch per se, but I love it. If you are from a yogurt-centric culture (and I am from a yogurt-centric culture), and if you believe that yogurt is a food group all of its own, you are going to love this yogurty ranch-like substance!

Sofya’s Garlic-Fiend-Special Yogurty Ranch

Note: The proportions given below are rough approximations of what I use, since I mostly don’t measure when I cook (though these are pretty darn close). Feel free to alter the amounts to your liking.

  • 3 T mayonnaise
  • 3 T sour cream
  • 1/4 C yogurt
  • 2 garlic cloves, pressed
  • a pinch of salt
  • a pinch of dried (or fresh) dill
  • 2 T finely chopped parsley
  • a dash of milk or half-and-half (if you like yours on a runny side, which I do)

Mix everything together and serve with wings or a salad or lick from your finger.
